As I have already mentioned at the first post of this blog, we got one presentation about information management, problems related with it and solutions. We had to make this presentation by group, four students in one group. So I tried to find information for this topic with my group members. We went online, library and searched everything about this topic. Finally we got it and we could make power-point presentation for this topic. During class day, our group was the first group to present about information management. After our presenting finished, our lecturer asked one question that is “what is information system? Information management and information system are the same or not?”. Unfortunately, we couldn’t answer it but one female student answered that question for us. Anyway, we satisfied on that because we did, I think, very well. And we got a lot of knowledge about that topic from lecturer’s information and group job. I think that our presentation and all students’ presentation on that topic came from almost the same source because during presentation period I noticed that all students’ information about that are almost the same. Now I want to mention some information about that topic. Information management is the collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences. There are two parts on this, information and management. The actual information is a collection of data elements that are obtained by running query and report programs against a particular database or group of databases. Management means the control over the structure, processing and delivery of information. So the focus of information management is the ability to capture, manage, preserve, store and deliver the right information to the right people at the right time. That’s all for week two class.
